Overview
The department has well qualified faculties including one Asst. Professor and 13 lecturers having excellent experience and qualifications including M.Tech., M.E. and B.E. Department are presently headed by Prof. Namit Gupta. They contribute to the development of students and department as a whole. The department also has trained technical supporting staff that compliments the performance of staff in the labs.
Department has well equipped laboratories including hardware and software meeting the latest curriculum of RGPV, Bhopal. Modern devices and gadgets including spectrum analyzers, DSOs, PLCs, Analytical Instruments, Biomedical Instruments etc. make the institute a leader in the vicinity of Indore. We also have a separate computer centre and simulation lab equipped with over 30 computers having latest configurations. Software tools including Microsim (design lab), EMU8086, Keil51, Tango, PSim, Matlab, TinaPro, Tina Lab II, Tanner, Xilnix support the labs in simulation and layout design of hardware.
The department has its innovations and quality procedures such as
- Regular updation of lab experiments
- Improvement in teaching methodology using various A/V aids including LCD Multimedia display, OHP etc.
- Learning material development including lab manuals and lecture notes
- Faculty and staff training
- Professional societies activates including IEEE membership
- Involvement of students in department-development activities
- Industrial visits and expert lectures for the students etc.
Working environment of the department is cohesive and congenial, having good interaction among students, faculty and supporting staff, and also with the neighboring R& D institutions and local industries. Educational visits as well as interaction of the department with local industries like Indo-German Tool Room, Scientech, CAT etc. is our regular feature. Many alumni of the department are pursuing M.Tech. in various IITs and abroad after securing high percentile in GATE and GRE. The department has seen good placements with premier industries including DRDO, ISRO, CAT, BARC, TEXAS, INFOSYS and TCS to name a few.
The department is also handling the post graduate M.E. (Embedded systems & VLSI Design), program along with Electronics & communication department of our college. The Embedded systems laboratories & projects are specific feature of our department.
